Where to Stay:
Guatemala has so many beautiful boutique hotels in both Antigua and Lake Atitlan! I loved all the hotels I stayed at and recommend them all:

When to visit:
Dry season is November to April and wet season is from May to October. I’d recommend travelling during the dry season if sunshine and clear views of the volcano are very important to you! You can easily do both Antigua and Lake Atitlan in 5-7 days, then add extra days if you want to venture to Tikal or to the coast for some beach time.
How to get around:
Private shuttle vans are definitely the easiest way to get around Guatemala. You can book them in advance online or through your hotel. Tuk tuks are available in small towns across the country and are perfect for short trips! Chicken buses are how local Guatemalans get around! They are old school buses that are usually colorfully decorated with paint and lights. They may be slow but they are cheap and offer an authentic experience!
